Some of us have read comic books, mainly when we studied at university probably because a friend was a fan of these books. Personally I remember reading
Totem (with illustrations of Manara or Paco Díaz),
Metal Hurlant (what about Moebius, Iván Casablanca or Serge Clerc)even
El Vibora penciled by Pons, Barbés...Now I have discoverd by chance Joe Benítez, an American comic book artist who has worked on titles

as "Superman/Batman", "Detective Comics" or "Supergirl". He also co-created and penciled the sci-fi series "Weapon Zero" and the dark fantasy mini-series "Magdalena:Blood Divine". He is currently working on a new creator-owned book called "Lady Mechanika", inspired by the steampunk genre.(Steampunk is all about re-imagining history usually combining the elegance of the Victorian Era with more advanced science fiction technology). But here in Spain we have comic book artists as good as Benítez: Rafa Sandoval, Javi García or Antonio Santamaria as you can see in the images above.
