Doris Lessing, the Nobel-Prize winning author of
The Golden Notebook and
The Grass is singing, died peacefully yesterday at the age of 94.She wrote more than 50 novels covering subjects from politics to science fiction. She was born in Iran and then brought up in Zimbabwe but she lived in London for more than 50 years.
